About Brunswick Dental Health Associates

Dr. Peter C. LeBourdais was born in Brunswick, Maine. He attended Cheverus High School in Portland, Maine, and he received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. LeBourdais graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, and he trained in a residency program at the Togus VA hospital. He has been in private practice in Brunswick since 1976.

Dr. LeBourdais is involved in many professional and non-profit organizations. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Merrymeeting Bay Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentists, the American Academy of Aesthetic Dentists, and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. Currently, he is on the board of directors of the Maine Rowing Association, The Friends of Casco Bay, and the Massasecum Timber Corporation. He is a dedicated husband and father of three.

Dr. Lesley McLafferty was born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Springfield, Illinois. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature from the University of Colorado Boulder while completing her prerequisites for dental school. Dr. McLafferty went on to attend Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, Illinois, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Dr. McLafferty recently relocated to Maine to be with her fiancé, Tyler Niven, whose family owns and operates Mere Point Oyster Company in Maquoit Bay, Brunswick. Since moving, she has become an active member of the local community and participates in events that support and promote small businesses throughout the area. She is honored not only to practice dentistry in Brunswick but also to call this special town home. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Women Dentists, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, and the Maine Dental Association. During dental school, Dr. McLafferty received recognition and awards from the American College of Prosthodontists, American Association of Women Dentists, and the Society for Color and Appearance in Dentistry for her outstanding achievement, leadership, and clinical excellence. Outside of dentistry, Dr. McLafferty enjoys practicing yoga and earned her Yoga Teacher Training Certification in November 2024. Her hobbies include golfing, hiking, and exploring Maine’s incredible food scene.
